A Court yard garden filled with many plants and a century-old oak tree is at your disopsal together with a summer panoramic pool where you can swim whilst being in the center of the village. Borgocuore is inside the castle of Ilci (one of Todi’s 37villages) and is quiet central and perfect for exploring Umbria’s rich history, culture, art and traditions. Its events calendar is full of things to do and to celebrate all year round. With many places to discover and love you will find it hard to leave. In addition to its charming towns and villages with incomparable charm, you be mesmerized by its original crafts (pottery, wrought iron, furniture, jewelry, pottery, weaving, glass, lace and trimmings) that it has to offer. Umbria provides us with bountiful food and its marvelous array of wine would warm up those Umbrian nights with charm and leave you with a taste for more.

IN IICI…

Ilci is part of one of the many landscape circuits surrounding Todi. Itineraries to discover the beauty of the landscape, artistic places and traditional Umbrian products by car, motorbike, bicycle, horseback or by foot. You can enjoy the traffic-free routes by car or take a magical trail among the secular oaks and explore the countryside and the surrounding hills filled with inspiring beauty. In Ilci there is also an outdoor recreational field for those who enjoy football, and you will also find a charming Children’s playground next to the Community centre.

IN TODI…

Ilci is surrounded by many beautiful hills, one of the most spectacular is that of Todi (only 8 km away): it is a highly recommended medieval town in Umbria. It was considered to be “the most livable city in the world” by a study conducted by a prestigious American university.

In Todi , you can visit, among many other things, the People’s Square (one of the most beautiful squares in Italy, where you will find the Cathedral, Palazzo dei Priori, the Palazzo del Capitano and the People’s Palace), the Temple of San Fortunato and the Temple of Our Lady of Consolation.

Todi is known for its high quality of life and its slow paced life style. The views and works of art carry you smoothly through the centuries of history, taking a stroll across the rich ‘Piazzas’ including you in events and celebrations making you feel at home. Todi boasts excellent wine and food (cold meats, cheeses, meats, etc …) that come strictly from their original recipes, preserving their flavours and perfumes from the past. The territory is well known for it’s production of oil and wines, such as the famous “Grechetto .”

You will find many sports facilities In Todi Ponte Naia (10 km), such as tennis courts and an Olympic size swimming pool in summer and many more.

NEARBY…

Besides Todi, among other places to discover and fall in love with, just a few miles away from Borgocuore there is Monte Castello di Vibio, a perfectly preserved medieval village where you could visit the Teatro della Concordia, the smallest italian theater.

Deruta is a town known for its pottery and is amongst the most beautiful villages in Italy. To be inspired by their historic and artistic pottery you can visit many of its craft workshops where you can view and purchase items with both a traditional and a modern style.

Less than half an hour away by car there are many other medieval villages that seep in History such as as Grutti, Gualdo Cattaneo, Giano, Castel Ritaldi, Bevagna and Montefalco, they are all immersed in the famous hills known for their vineyards and wine cellars. The home of “Sagrantino” renowned internationally for its red wine.

Just a little further away, you will also find other important towns in Umbria, with great historical, artistic, and religious landscapes: Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Spello, Spoleto, Orvieto, etc … which are waiting for you. A trip by car to this towns would require a little more than half an hour. Nearby you will find many of Perugia’s cashmere outlets and Antognolla’s golf course (20 minutes north of Perugia).

Nearby Ilci, just 6km away you can go horse riding through Pian di San Martino, where they organize excursions in the green hills of Umbria. For extreme sports lovers 5km away you can Paraglide among the fields of Pantalla (Campo di Volo di Pantalla).
